Lake Tahoe Community College in South Lake Tahoe offers several certificate and associate degree programs. Areas of study include anthropology, addiction studies, business, chemistry, computer and information sciences, criminal justice and dental assisting. Other programs include emergency medical technician work, environmental science, horticulture, humanities, phlebotomy, photography, physical education and health, real estate, theater arts and even wilderness education. Real estate students cover topics such as finance, appraisal and Internet use. Photography students learn to operate traditional and digital cameras and operate commercial studio equipment, while horticulture students study the history of landscape architecture, site analysis, irrigation concepts and development of planting plans. Students at the college also can choose to study abroad.
