The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District operates in southern California, just outside of San Diego. Cerro Coso College has been offering online classes since 1997 and, as of 2010, the college offers 19 associate degrees entirely online.
Cerro Coso College online classes are not self-paced--students must adhere to assignment deadlines and complete exams during specified times. Degree programs that can be completed online include computer information systems, business administration and paralegal studies.

Santa Rosa Junior College offers general education courses online and two associate degree programs can be completed completely through distance education. All courses are taught by Santa Rosa Junior College faculty and are offered during the same semester dates as traditional courses.
Humanities and social and behavioral sciences degrees can be completed entirely online, and many of the online general education courses can be transfered to the California State University system.
Student services available to online students include phone support, drop-in advising on campus and online chat support.
