According to the Romow Education Blog, the best college or university on the entire eastern seaboard for oceanography is FSU. The department of oceanography doesn't offer a specific undergraduate degree, but, like most colleges in this field, they offer several degrees that include a "specialization" status in oceanography. At FSU the main degree can be in chemistry, biochemistry or physical science, all which can be focused with a specialty in oceanography. Graduate degrees in actual oceanography are offered.

Another option for studying oceanography in Florida is the College of Marine Science at the University of South Florida (USF). This school is research heavy and geared specifically for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. There is an extremely good faculty to student ratio of about 6 students to every faculty member, and there are many research and technical associates as well. This is an oceanography college in Florida that might be a good choice for students looking at graduate or postgraduate work.
