Founded in 1897, the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing became affiliated with Fisher College in 1990. As one of the only hospital-based nursing programs in Massachusetts, this Boston-area school offers students a two-year diploma or associate's degree program. Graduates of Brockton's program can take the NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) and become a registered nurse.

Boston's Bunker Hill Community College offers a variety of day, evening and weekend study options that lead to an associate's degree in nursing. This two-year program combines clinical and academic coursework. Clinical courses start in the first and second semesters. First-year students must start in the fall term. Before beginning classes, students must pass a physical examination, show proof of a current negative TB test and have proof of required immunizations. Additionally, students must have a current American Heart Association CPR certification (for health care providers) and malpractice insurance, and they must pass a criminal background check. Academic prerequisites for the nursing program include high school or college level chemistry plus lab, fundamentals of algebra, college writing, anatomy and physiology plus lab, and drug calculation. Graduates can take the NCLEX to become a registered nurse. Bunker Hills' nursing major is accredited by the National League of Nursing Accreditation Commission.

The Lawrence Memorial/Regis College Associate of Science degree in nursing is a two-year course of study that enables graduates to take the NCLEX to become an RN. This program offers day, evening and weekend study options. The nursing curriculum includes clinical and academic classes. Clinical work is done at Lawrence Hospital, a 134-bed acute care center, at major Boston hospital settings and in health care simulation labs. Graduates of the associate program may opt for the upward mobility track. This feature allows RN's with an associate degree from Lawrence Memorial/Regis College to go on to a bachelor's and master's of nursing. Accreditation for this school is granted through the Board of Registration in Nursing of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission.
