LPN to BSN Programs in North Carolina

Practical nursing, while offering a good entry-level nursing career, often is a steppingstone to higher level nursing careers such as a registered nurse (RN) or an advanced practice nurse (ARNP). A licensed practical nurse (LPN) who wishes to become an registered nurse (RN) has two degree options: associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or a bachelor's of science in nursing (BSN). While both culminate in the opportunity to apply for RN licensure, LPNs who envision themselves continuing on their nursing education path will likely choose to pursue a BSN. North Carolina LPNs have three LPN to BSN education programs available to them.
  1. Winston-Salem State University

    • Winston-Salem State University is a nationally recognized institution that serves a diverse student population of about 6,500 students. Winston-Salem's College of Health Science LPN to BSN program prepares practical nurses to enter the nursing field as RNs with a bachelor's degree or to continue their education and become a specialist. The 71-hour program covers all general education and core nursing courses, including clinical rotations.
