Throughout its long history, N.C. A&T has graduated many prominent scientists and activists. N.C. A&T's LPN to BSN program offers both a generalist BSN and a specialty in surgical technology. The LPN to BSN curriculum covers all general education requirements as well as nursing core classes and clinicals.

Located less than 10 miles from the North Carolina-Tennessee border, East Tennessee State University (ETSU) offers North Carolina LPNs an opportunity to obtain their BSN degree. Focusing on community-based healthcare, ETSU encourages its students to continue working during the BSN program and provides job-placement assistance as needed. The program is 5 years long, and students are offered an opportunity for tuition reimbursement.
