Lone Star College is a community college that has multiple locations in Texas. Lone Star College's Kingwood campus is located in north Houston right off U.S. Highway 59. The fully accredited LVN program offered at Lone Star is a one-year certificate program and is also offered at Lone Star's LSC-CyFair, Montgomery and Tomball locations. In this program you will take classes in lab, clinical and classroom settings. Some of the classes in this program include basic nursing skills, clinical basics, pharmacology, mental illness and pediatric nursing. Students that graduate from this program are given a certificate of completion and qualify to take the NCLEX-PN Exam to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

Alvin Community College is located just south of Houston in Alvin, Texas. ACC offers a 44-hour, fully-accredited LVN certificate program that takes about a year to complete. Like most other LVN programs, you will participate in classes through labs, lectures and clinical internships. Classes that you can expect to take in this program include anatomy and physiology, surgical nursing, geriatric and pediatric nursing, professional development and essentials of medication administration. Students that graduate from this program will qualify to take the NCLEX-PN Examination to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

Houston Community College is located is West Houston near Missouri City. HCC's LVN program is a fully-accredited one-year certificate program that is broken down into three semesters. Students are taught in classroom and lab settings. Students also participate in an internship at a health care facility for real-life practice. Classes that you can expect to take in this program include nutrition, maternal and neonatal nursing, vocational nursing concepts, nursing in health and illness and advanced nursing skills. Graduates of the program will be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN Examination to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
