OB/GYN nurses provide health care to females with various medical concerns related to the reproductive system.     • The School of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. High school students applying to college or students who have already graduated with a bachelor's degree in another field are eligible to attend. Prerequisites include courses in Biology, Chemistry and Anatomy, among several other topics of study. While attending the university, admitted students will complete advanced coursework and clinical practice. Students who graduate from the bachelor's program may continue into any of the School of Nursing's 18 master's programs. The program is accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

    University of Washington

    • University of Washington offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a two-year program that prepares students for many careers in nursing. Courses emphasize critical thinking, therapeutics and health care resources. In addition to the two years of nursing study, undergraduates must earn 89 credits in general studies. Students should be aware that admission to the program is highly competitive and allows no part-time study. Also, the university offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing at all three campuses in Seattle, Bothell and Tacoma. The school is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

    Johns Hopkins University

    • Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing offers a two-year program in upper division courses which leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Prospective students must complete 60 credits in approved coursework in order to apply, including courses in prerequisites such as Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology and others. Students who are enrolled in the program often gain practical experience through internships at local hospitals during the summer, including Johns Hopkins Hospital. Students take courses such as Public Health Nursing, Foundations of Nursing Practice and Nursing the Childbearing Family, all topics that prepare the nurse for a career as an OB/GYN nurse.
