Obstetric Nursing Schools

Obstetric nurses, or OBs, provide female patients with support, education and care concerning reproductive health. Obstetric nurses generally work with newborn infants and pregnant women, and responsibilities include assisting with childbirth, overseeing the maternity ward, and counseling new or expectant mothers. Students who wish to pursue a career as an obstetric nurse must first obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and enroll in courses that emphasize obstetric care.
