Augsburg College works with the Nursing Center at Central Lutheran College to offer upperclassmen the chance to apply the knowledge they learned in their classroom studies at the college. Augsburg offers three levels of degrees: a bachelor's, a master of arts in nursing and a doctor of nursing practice.
Bemidji State University's nursing department offers programs for students looking to begin their education in nursing and for registered nurses looking to attain a higher degree in the field. Students select their focus in the program from a list that includes options such as technology, teaching students to incorporate modern technologies into patient care; rural care, which offers a broad range of knowledge; and family health. With its campus located in a Native American community, the university helps students to learn cultural sensitivity in delivering care.
The Mayo School of Health Sciences offers instruction to about 800 students every year, and includes preparation for 27 health science careers through more than 60 study programs. Graduates can seek employment with one of the Mayo Clinic's many national branches, enabling them to work in the area of the country where they want to live.
Saint Mary's University of Minnesota offers a bachelor of science in nursing program for registered nurses interested in increasing their knowledge in the field to advance professionally. The program focuses on the scientific study of the field and its clinical application in patient care. In addition to classes designed to enhance students' clinical understanding, the program features management courses with the goal of preparing students for advancement to a leadership position at a hospital.
