Gwynedd-Mercy College in Philadelphia offers several options for completing a degree in nursing. The college's weekend associate of science program is for students who already have earned a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree in fields other than nursing. Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree with a 3.0 grade point average in prerequisite courses. Texas Woman's University does not accept students who have received grades below C in lab sciences. Applicants also must pass an entrance test. Accepted students complete all courses and clinical experience during weekends. Students can complete this program in three years.
Borough of Manhattan Community College offers an associate of applied science program for weekday and weekend nursing students. Those in the weekend program study part-time and attend Saturday and Sunday courses year-round for three years. Weekend students complete the same basic requirements as traditional students. All nursing students have the opportunity to complete clinical requirements at medical facilities in diverse areas of New York City. Graduates of the associate's degree program at Borough of Manhattan Community College can complete their bachelor's level nursing education at Medgar Evers College.
