Denmark Medical Schools

Denmark, a Scandinavian country bordered by the Baltic and North Sea, offers three prestigious medical programs for students. Aarhus University, the University of Copenhagen and Syddansk University all offer medical programs, and both Aarhus University and the University of Copenhagen are ranked in the top 100 best medical schools in the world, according to a report by US News.
  1. Aarhus University

    • Aarhus University was ranked the 64th best medical school in the world and the best medical school in Demark, according to a 2010 report by US News. Students study under the Graduate School of Health Sciences, and are instructed by a multi-disciplinary approach to learning. The program has contracts with more than 100 universities and clinics, and students may study a variety of components of health, including public health, nursing, epidemiology and biology. Students also have access to the university's libraries and research facilities.

    University of Copenhagen

    • The University of Copenhagen was ranked the 86th best medical school in the country and has the second best program in Denmark, according to a 2010 report by US News. Students are encouraged to take courses in such subjects as nanotechnology, HIV, international health and molecular biomedicine. The University of Copenhagen also offers contract appointments with the Copenhagen School of Global Health. This program also grants students access to the campus' libraries and research facilities.

    Syddansk University

    • Syddansk University, is otherwise known as the University of Southern Denmark. Its medical program emphasizes illness prevention, as well as proper diagnosis and the enhancement and rehabilitation of patients. Students work hands-on with patients and have access to the university's state-of-the-art research centers and libraries.
