Although the main campus is in Wilburton, Eastern Oklahoma State College has a satellite campus in McAlester. According to its website, "Eastern's McAlester Campus has been charged by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) to serve as the institution responsible for providing and facilitating higher education courses and programs at the lower-division, upper-division and graduate level in the McAlester area." Students can complete a bachelor's or master's degree at the McAlester campus.
