IUP Colleges in Pennsylvania

Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) is part of the Pennsylvania state system of schools. The university is located in and named after the town of Indiana, where the first campus was established in 1875 as a Normal school that offered teaching training. It became a state school, a college and finally a university in 1965. IUP now has four campuses that offer more than 130 undergraduate degrees to a student body of more than 14,000, the fifth largest in the state.
  1. Indiana - Main Campus

    • The IUP campus center is known as the Oak Grove.

IUP's main campus is about 55 miles north of Pittsburgh in Indiana, situated on more than 350 acres of Pennsylvania countryside. The expansive campus provides living accommodations, learning opportunities, and recreational activities throughout its 75 buildings and 11 athletic fields. Beyond earning an undergraduate degrees, students can stay at IUP and earn one of 50 master's degrees or a doctorate from 10 fields of study.

    Punxsutawney Campus

    • Punxsutawney, best known as the home of groundhog Punxsutawney Phil, is also the site of a small IUP campus that's 35 miles from Indiana. Many students choose to start here to avoid the culture shock of enrolling directly in a large university. This special first-year experience is particularly useful for students who want additional guidance in selecting a major and preparing a plan of study. Another reason to choose the Punxsutawney campus is to participate in its culinary arts program.

    Northpointe

    • IUP has another campus in Freeport that offers the first-year program to help students prepare for the university experience. The Northpointe campus is 40 miles from Indiana, in a 925-acre technology park. Its location allows many students to begin their first year of college with an easy commute. The campus has all the resources first-year students need.

    Monroeville

    • The IUP Monroeville campus, in Pittsburgh, is a convenient location for professionals and suitable for any student who's driven to earn a master's degree or doctorate, since it allows the pursuit of continued education while holding down a full- or part-time job. Students have access to the IUP library using their high-tech interfaces and elaborate web-based technologies.
