The Pennsylvania College of Technology became a member of Pennsylvania State University in 1989. As of 2010, it is a special mission affiliate of Penn State, focusing on technology-related education. The Williamsport, Pennsylvania, campus attracts the second-highest enrollment in the Penn State school system, with more than 6,400 students. The school offers associate and bachelors degrees in more than 100 areas, and many two-year associate degrees are transferable into four-year bachelor's programs. Penn College also operates Pennsylvania's largest working-training program, called the Workforce Development and Continuing Education unit. It is accredited though the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
