Oklahoma Division 2 Colleges

Division II Universities are colleges that rank in the second division of the NCAA; this means that those schools all play in the same league as one another in terms of professionalism and skill. Each individual state has its own Division II colleges; the number varies based on the population of each state.
  1. Cameron University

    • Cameron University is a Division II school located in Lawton, Oklahoma with over 6000 students enrolled annually. Cameron University offers over 50 degree programs on the Baccalaureate and Master's levels; the student-to-faculty ratio is about 20 -to-1. Cameron University has a diverse athletics program that flies under the banner of the Aggies, the school's mascot. As of 2011, Cameron University has not yet won a Division II NCAA title, but still boasts many fine athletes and coaches.

    University of Central Oklahoma

    • As of 2011, the UCO Bronchos hold the number 10 spot for Division II NCAA, making them one of the heavy hitters in the basketball world. With dozens of basketball camps going throughout the year, the University of Central Oklahoma offers its players many opportunities to better themselves. Academics at the University of Central Oklahoma mirror the athletic department with over 60 degree programs and dozens of experienced professors to match any large university.

    Northeastern State University

    • With over 30 degree programs offered, Northeastern State University is one of the top Division II schools in Oklahoma. Though as of 2011, they have not won a Division II NCAA championship in over two decades, the school is still one of the top 20 NCAA Division II schools in the US. The NESU Riverhawks have a rich history dating back to the schools founding in the 1850s. Throughout the years the Riverhawks have evolved into the basketball team that they are with the support of contributing alumni as well as their fellow students.

    Oklahoma Panhandle University

    • Founded in 1909, Oklahoma Panhandle University was originally an agricultural college; however, it quickly established itself as a Division II school in the NCAA upon the NCAA's organization. The OPU Aggies are renowned for their basketball team with two division championships to their name. The OPU Aggies also enjoy a fine academic program with over 20 degrees offered to undergraduate students as well as continuing and graduate students.
