    Macon State College

    • Macon State College, located in Macon, offers a full-time program in respiratory therapy leading to a degree in respiratory therapy. The two-year program includes classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction. The laboratory allows students to practice their skills on mannequins prior to entering the clinical setting. Students partake in clinical rotations at area hospitals, allowing them to practice their skills under the close supervision of licensed respiratory therapists.

    Gwinnett Technical College

    • Located in Lawrenceville, Gwinnett Technical College is a full-time respiratory therapy program leading to the completion of an associate in applied science degree. The program, which holds classes during daytime hours, is eight quarters in length. Students receive instruction in anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pharmacology and rehabilitation and home care in addition to their respiratory therapy courses. To be considered for admission to the program, applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and have completed all prerequisite courses by the application deadline. To graduate from the program, students must pass three comprehensive exams.
