Tarrant County College's Northeast Campus located in Hurst, Texas offers an Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy. The program is an accredited course of study that spans over 21 months. Students receive class time as well as clinical study and classes are offered only during the daytime.
Interested students must apply to the college then apply to the program. Admission is based upon grade point averages and bonus criteria such as having a prior bachelor's degree, college courses with a C or better and experience working in the respiratory field. In addition, candidates must submit all prior transcripts, take the Associate of Applied Science reading, writing and math test and undergo a background check and drug screen given by the college.
Upon completion of this program, candidates can take the National Respiratory Care exam for credentialing.

Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD) offers a respiratory therapy program at El Centro College. This Associate of Applied Science program covers 72 hours of coursework over about 20 months.
Interested students should submit an application to DCCCD, attend a respiratory care information session, complete all prerequisites with a 3.0 or higher grade point average, submit all transcripts and submit the entire application packet to the respiratory care program. Applicants may submit packets via mail or in person.
After completion of the program, students may take the entry-level national exam for certification.

ATI Career Training Center located in Dallas, Texas has a respiratory therapy program which awards an associate degree. The focus of this program is on neonatal/pediatric care, cardiopulmonary care, lung expansion therapy, respiratory care case management and clinical training in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes and doctor's offices.
Students can complete this program over two to four years, depending on the speed of the student's work. Interested students must show proof of a high school diploma or GED and have an interview with an admissions counselor.
Upon completion, students are eligible to take the national exam for licensure.
