LVN to RN Schools in California

Licensed vocational nurses provide health care services, such as bathing and dressing patients, under the supervision of physicians or registered nurses (RNs). LVNs who wish to advance professionally can enter a bridge program to become a registered nurse. California offers licensed LVNs the option of completing 30 credits of coursework and sitting for the RN licensing exam without completing an associate degree.
  1. Mount St. Mary's College

    • LVNs can enter the associate program in nursing at Mount St. Mary's College through a mobility option. The mobility option gives an LVN advanced standing in the nursing program. Alternatively, LVNs can take advantage of a non-degree option that makes students eligible to take the RN licensure exam following completion of 30 course units. LVNs must meet the college's general admission requirements including a GPA of 2.5 for all prior college coursework. The RN program curriculum for LVNs includes courses in nursing leadership, community nursing, and nursing practice as it applies to children and geriatric patients.
