CNA to LPN Schools

A certified nursing assistant is an entry-level nursing position that works under the supervision of a registered nurse or a licensed practical nurse. CNAs make a lower salary than most other nurses, and fewer opportunities are available. Many universities offer nursing courses designed to help nurses advance in their field. Programs are available all over the country, and many universities that offer the program have online courses.
  1. Howard Community College

    • The design of the nursing program at Howard Community College, in Colombia, Maryland, has the nurse's career ladder in mind. CNA to LPN programs are available, as are LPN to RN programs. Licensed CNAs can immediately begin instruction in Howard Community College's LPN program, which begins in the fall semester and lasts 11 months. Howard sponsors a scholarship program for nursing, and students from low- and middle-income backgrounds are eligible to apply. Students completing the LPN program can sit for the National Council Licensing Examination for Practical Nurses.
