The LPN to RN transition program at South Florida Community College, located in Avon Park, Florida affords LPNs the opportunity to earn an Associate in Science or Applied Science Degree in Nursing degree. This degree program features subjects including legal considerations, ethical and professional nursing responsibilities, mental health nursing and obstetric and pediatric nursing care. Students must have a minimum of 20 hours of work experience in a direct patient care setting within the last three years, have earned a passing score on the National League for Nursing Mobility Exam and have current intravenous (IV) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certifications in order to qualify for admission into the program.

Located in Lake Havasu City, near the Arizona and California border is Mohave Community College. Mohave Community College offers a two semester LPN to RN program. Students are required to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada during the course of the program to partake in clinical rotations and practice the clinical skills that have been learned in the classroom. Students complete classes in microbiology, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, pharmacology and psychosocial nursing. Upon completion of the program, students earn an associate in applied science degree in nursing.

Itawamba Community College's Fulton campus, located in Fulton, Mississippi offers a two-year associate degree in nursing program. The program requires a total of 71 credits for completion. Current LPNs wishing to become RNs are eligible for advanced placement in the nine-credit Fundamentals of Nursing course by passing its challenge exam, in addition to the challenge exams for math and dosage calculations. All challenge exams must be passed with a minimum score of 78 percent on the first attempt.
