LVN to RN Programs in Texas

Applying licensed vocational nurse (LVN or LPN) training toward a degree and career as a registered nurse (RN) carries many benefits. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, RNs earned a median salary of about $62,000 in 2009---nearly double the average LPN salary of about $39,000. Many nursing programs in Texas recognize the skills cultivated as an LVN and offer certified LVNs advanced standing in their RN programs.
