Tax Preparer Schools in California

The state of California regulates tax preparers by requiring licensure. The California Tax Education Council (CTEC) supervises the registration of tax preparers. In order to prepare tax returns for pay in the state of California, you must be a certified public accountant, an enrolled agent, or licensed by CTEC. CTEC also requires continuing education. The classes necessary for CTEC licensing and continued education are offered at a number of schools in California.
