Columbia University is New York's top business school, ranking ninth in the U.S. News and World Report's "Best Business Schools 2010" ranking. Students may pursue master's, executive MBA or doctoral degree programs. Accounting, management, and marketing curriculum are available, amongst several others. Students seeking an executive-based program may also partake in various short-term courses. The Columbia Senior Executive Program and Columbia Essentials of Management are just two options. Courses for the executive MBA are also offered on Saturdays, giving full-time employees an opportunity to attend the program. Stern's global programs involve coursework at international universities as well, allowing students to absorb and obtain intercontinental business principles. London, Paris, and Hong Kong are a few of the locations at which students may matriculate-in addition to Stern. The school's doctoral program is also of note as many of its graduates go on to attain employment at prestigious universities and corporations.

Cornell University's Johnson School, ranks 18th in the U.S. News and World Report's "Best Business Schools 2010" ranking. The school offers four MBA options: a two-year option, a shorter option for students wishing to complete the program in one year, as well as two executive master's options. One executive option is taught on opposite weekends, while the other is offered through virtual means. Also, Johnson's doctoral program generally serves no more than 30 candidates, so potential students should prepare for a competitive application process.
