List of Top Colleges for Business in Florida

When it comes time to choose a college or university for a business degree, it can prove difficult to narrow down which one to choose as there are so many. There are many national and accredited lists out there that can help you narrow down your choices. Both Businessweek and U.S. News & World Report creates a list each year of the best schools for business and even allows you to search the list further by narrowing by state. In Florida there are several schools that make the list for top business schools in the country.
  1. Florida State University

    • Florida State University is a public university that was founded in 1851 and is ranked by Business Week as the 85th best school for business degrees. The school's College of Business is an accredited four-year program that was founded in 1950. Admittance to the College of Business includes having already completed 52 credit hours and an overall GPA of 2.90. Degrees under the banner of the College of Business include accounting, finance, management, marketing and real estate. Annual tuition for state residents is $4,154 and for nonresidents is $18,598, as of the 2010 school year.

    University of Central Florida

    • The University of Central Florida was founded in 1963 and made the list of top business schools coming in at number 111. The School of Business is an accredited four-year program that was founded in 1968 shortly after the university's founding. The school has both an undergraduate and a graduate program that goes all the way up to a doctorate. Some of the departments in UCF's School of Business include economics, finance, marketing and management. Annual tuition of UCF for state resident is $3,846 and $19,160 for a nonresident, as of the 2010 school year.

    University of Florida

    • The University of Florida houses the Warrington College of Business Administration that consists of a two-year business program and a four-year undergraduate program. The Warrington College of Business Administration was founded in 1926 and includes degrees such as economics, finance, marketing and accounting. Annual tuition for a resident is $4,373 and $23,744 for a nonresident, as of the 2010 school year. To transfer into the Warrington College of Business Administration must have at least 60 transferable credit hours and a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

    University of Miami

    • The University of Miami is a private university that was founded in 1925. The school is accredited and utilizes a four-year undergraduate program as well as a four-year business program. Undergraduate majors include accounting, economics, finance, legal studies, marketing and real estate. To transfer into the School of Business, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and a C or better in all transferable courses. Tuition for both resident and nonresident is $36,962, as of the 2010 school year.
