Emory University established its Goizueta Business School in 1919; about 80 years after the Methodist Episcopal Church founded Emory College in 1836. Coca Cola executives were early benefactors. In 1994, the school renamed its business school in honor of Roberto C. Goizueta, a Coca Cola CEO.
Goizueta Business School requires its students to take 74 hours of business courses, including at least three classes in a specialty field. Specialties are accounting, business communications, finance, marketing, information systems and operations management, and organization and management,

Andrew Carnegie, famed industrialist and philanthropist, founded the Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1900. In 1967, the name changed to Carnegie Mellon when it merged with the Mellon Institute. The university's Tepper School of Business, which offers a bachelor's degree in administration, is highly regarded since seven of its graduates have earned Nobel Prizes in economics. The university says its goal is to produce "fast learners rather than producers," as some of the jobs its graduates will hold don't exist yet. Tepper offers specialties in entrepreneurship, marketing, manufacturing management and consultant, general management, graphic media management, finance, computing and information management.

Portland State University is the only university located in a major metropolitan city in Oregon. School literature says this is an advantage for its students in the School of Business Administration as it allows them better access to Oregon's leading businesses for such activities as internships. According to the university, another benefit to attending Oregon's largest business school is that it is only one of 400 universities worldwide accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Undergraduates looking for a bachelor's degree in business administration can choose from several specialties: accounting, finance, real estate finance, management, information systems, advertising management, human resources management, and supply and logistics management.
