New York CCNE Nursing Colleges

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) is a national accrediting agency that is officially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education. The job of the CCNE is to ensure the quality of nursing education programs throughout the country. There are many different colleges located throughout the United States that offer nursing programs accredited by the CCNE, with 38 of them in the state of New York.
  1. Binghamton University

    • The Decker School of Nursing was instituted at Binghamton University in 1969. There are both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs available at the university. Both levels are accredited by the CCNE and prepare students to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) upon graduation. The school's Innovative Practice Center was expanded in 2005 to increase its students' clinical foundation for their education. Federal financial aid is available, including grants and loans. Students are encouraged to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine individual eligibility.

    College of New Rochelle

    • The School of Nursing at the College of New Rochelle offers students many different program options. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is available as well as graduate programs for a Master of Science in Nursing or a post-Master's Certificate. The School of Nursing has been accredited by the CCNE since 2003. As of early 2011, tuition is $27,110 a year with room and board expenses at $11,000 for single occupancy. The college participates in federal financial aid for tuition and boarding expenses. The school also works independently with its students to set up monthly payment plans if necessary.

    Columbia University

    • Holding CCNE accreditation since 2004, Columbia University, in New York City, offers students many different options in the nursing field. Students with a non-nursing degree can obtain a certification to become an Advanced Practice Nurse. The university also offers nine master's specialties, many different master's sub-specialties and a degree completion program for students that do not hold a master's degree. The School of Nursing also offers doctoral and PhD programs. Columbia University participates in federal financial aid. Students may qualify for grants and loans by completing a FAFSA.

    New York University

    • The New York University College of Nursing gained CCNE accreditation in 2006. The school offers a variety of programs, including a Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Nursing, post-Master's specialty certificate programs, Doctorate in Nursing Practice and a PhD in research and development. The college is also home to The Hartford Center for Geriatric Nursing as well as other specialized departments. The school participates in federal financial aid, and students can apply for grants and loans by completing a FAFSA.
