Purdue University offers several paths to a career in nursing. The most popular is the four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Students are prepared for the real world through classroom learning, internships and hands-on clinic hours. Graduates find positions in clinic and hospital settings, or as home health care providers. Additionally, licensed registered nurses can enroll in the RN-to-BS program, gaining additional knowledge for a specialty or moving into management. Several master's degrees are available, and post-master's certificates can be earned in pediatric nursing or oncology nursing. The bachelor's and master's programs have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and can lead graduates to careers in the public and private sectors as clinical practitioners, administrators and professors. Purdue also offers a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
