Illinois Nursing Colleges

The State of Illinois Division of Professional Regulation carries the responsibility of approving education programs within the state. Graduates of these programs have the ability to take the National Council Licensing Examination to gain a nursing license in the state. A number of colleges in Illinois carry state approval and combine classroom work with hands-on clinical training to prepare students to work in the field that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts will grow by 22 percent from 2008 through 2018.
