Oklahoma Christian University, located in northeast Oklahoma City, opened in 1950 and serves over 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students. OC is committed to the values of faith and service, which are integrated into education and campus activities. The schools offers online and on-campus education and its students are committed to the work of God. More than 1,000 OC students compete in intramural sports. OC has both men's and women's track and field and cross-country programs and as of January 2011, holds more than 30 national championships. OC is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and Sooner Athletic Conference.
Bethel College, a four-year liberal arts college founded in 1887 in North Newton, Kansas, is the oldest Mennonite college in the U.S. and is committed to education through Christian values and a diverse mix of classes. Student enrollment is small at less than 500 undergraduates, served by a faculty of 40. All undergraduates are required to complete a research project, a public performance and/or an internship. BC has one of the best track facilities in the central U.S. and hosts several championship meets. The school is a member of NAIA Division II and competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. As of January 2011, the Threshers have won more than 57 conference titles.
Oklahoma State University's main campus in Oklahoma City offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in 131 majors, including agricultural science, natural resources and veterinary health. The study body is around 40,000. Men and women athletes compete in track and field and cross-country in the Big 12 Conference. Since 1983, OSU's runners have had dozens of All-Americans, four NCAA champions, an Olympian and a world-record holder. OSU also has a Tulsa campus with a strong track program.
University of Tulsa, a private school located in northeast Oklahoma, has nearly 4,200 students in 51 undergraduate, 35 master's and 10 doctorate programs. According to U.S. News & World Report's 2011 edition of America's Best College, TU is ranked 93rd among "national doctoral universities." Student-to-faculty ratio is 11:1, with slightly over 300 full-time faculty members. TC is home of the Golden Hurricanes; it's a member of NCAA Division 1 and competes in the WAC for cross-country and track. TU runners hold numerous conference and national titles.
