Bible colleges issue certificates and undergraduate degrees just as secular or denominational colleges do, but the emphasis is on biblical studies and Christian ministry. Each college has its own Statement of Faith that is at the core of the institution's beliefs, which is the belief in Jesus Christ, His deity, death and resurrection. Beliefs are Bible based and fundamental. Part of the Bob Jones University mission statement says it "exists to grow Christlike character that is scripturally disciplined, others-serving, God-loving, Christ-proclaiming and focused above."
