Protestant Bible Colleges

Bible colleges primarily train people who want to become leaders within a congregation or work as religious educators. Many Bible colleges are fully accredited and offer general education classes, giving students a well-rounded education while imparting Christian values and teachings. As of 2011, there are more than 200 Bible colleges operating in North America, according to The Association for Biblical Higher Education
  1. Alaska Bible College

    • Alaska Bible College, located in Glennallen, Alaska, offers a variety of degrees and certificates. Students can earn a Bible certificate in one year; a Bible and ministries certificate or an Associate of Arts degree in two years; or a four-year degree in biblical studies and Christian ministry. The on-campus library at ABC houses the largest theological collection in Alaska. Students also have access to resources such as a counseling service and a fitness center. Glennallen is a small, rural town that experiences extremes in weather. The school recommends that all prospective students conduct careful winter weather research and come prepared with appropriate clothing.

    Boise Bible College

    • Boise Bible College began in 1945 as a training school for ministers and became an independent educational organization in 1974. The school offers four-year degrees, a two-year degree and a one-year certificate program. Juniors and seniors complete internships in their chosen ministerial field as a condition of graduation. With less than 200 students and 11 full-time faculty, classes are small and personalized. Church services are held in the on-campus chapel twice a week and attendance is mandatory. In addition, involvement with a local congregation outside of BBC is required of most students.

    Free Will Baptist Bible College

    • Located in the heart of Nashville, the Free Will Baptist Bible College sits on nine acres and admits approximately 350 students per year. More than 40 undergraduate majors are offered, all with the intention of producing Christian leaders. Fields of study include biblical studies, teacher education, business and pastoral ministries. The college also offers an adult degree program to people working full-time who wish to earn a degree through evening classes. Students at FWBBC are encouraged to get involved in the campus community through participation in on-campus organizations and activities.

South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary

    • South Florida Bible College & Theological Seminary offers four-year degrees in subjects like religious education, Christian business management, biblical studies and divinity. The college also offers graduate courses designed to prepare students for doctoral study at other schools. All degrees can be completed through distance learning.
