Alaskan Bible Colleges

There are three Bible colleges available in the state of Alaska: Alaska Bible College, Alaska Bible Institute and Alaska Christian College. All three colleges focus on biblical studies and Christian beliefs. Students can learn about the Bible and various aspects of Christian ministries while growing spiritually.
  1. Alaska Bible College

    • Alaska Bible College is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education. The school offers a four-year bachelor's degree in biblical studies and Christian ministries as well as an associate degree, a Bible and ministry certification and a Bible certification. The associates degree option requires more general studies courses over the two-year period. The Bible and ministry certificate provides studies in both the Bible and various aspects of ministry with fewer general studies. The Bible certificate, which is only one-year-long, does not require general or ministry studies courses.

    Alaska Bible Institute

    • The Alaska Bible Institute provides two potential diploma options. There is a two-year study course with a diploma in biblical studies and a three-year program which results in a diploma in Christian ministry. The two diplomas start with the same education for the first two years, but the Christian ministry diploma is a higher education option with one more year of study.

    Alaska Christian College

    • Alaska Christian College offers two Bible certificate options: a certificate of Bible studies and a certificate of Bible studies and general education. Both certificates include biblical studies, but the second course option provides education in math, speech and English. The Bible certificate option is a 31 credit course while the biblical studies certificate is a 61 credit course.

    Costs of Bible Studies

    • Costs vary by school. The least expensive option is the Alaska Bible Institute, which only charges for room and board but does not have a tuition cost. As of 2010, Alaska Bible Institute room and board is $3580 per student for the six months instruction period.
