The American Society of Civil Engineers sponsors a total of nine scholarship and fellowship programs for civil engineering undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarship awards range from $2,000 to $3,000 and fellowships are granted in amounts of $2,000 to $6,000. Applicants must be enrolled in an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology-accredited civil engineering program and meet individual eligibility requirements for each award.

The Dr. Wesley Eckenfelder Scholarship is a $3,000 award presented to full-time junior and senior civil engineering students who have an interest in working in the environmental industry. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program. Students are selected on the basis of academic merit, letters of recommendation and career goals.

The Virginia Department of Transportation sponsors scholarship awards for junior engineering students who are enrolled in an ABET-accredited program in the state of Virginia. Selected applicants will receive a scholarship award of $3,500 and also have the opportunity to participate in a paid summer internship with the VDOT. In exchange for the scholarship, recipients must agree to work for the VDOT for a period of six months for each semester the award is received.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet offers two scholarship programs for civil engineering students enrolled at ABET-accredited colleges and universities in Kentucky. The Civil Engineering Scholarship Program is open to students who are pursuing a bachelor's degree at selected schools. Recipients are eligible to receive $4,850 to $5,250 per semester, depending on their year of enrollment. The Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship provides awards of $2,500 per semester to engineering students enrolled in an approved associate degree program.

The Associated General Contractors of America offers scholarships to undergraduates and graduate students who are enrolled in a civil engineering program and have an interest in construction management and engineering. Undergraduate scholarships are limited to sophomores and juniors. Selected students receive up to $2,500 per year. Graduate awards of $7,500 are available to graduating college seniors who are planning to enroll in an accredited graduate civil engineering program.
