Scholarships for Industrial Engineering

A variety of scholarships and educational grants are available to students pursuing a degree in industrial engineering. Professional organizations of engineers are the most common source for nationally available scholarships for industrial engineering. Some scholarships for industrial engineering majors are limited to female students, or limited to undergraduates or freshmen.
  1. Institute of Industrial Engineers

    • The Institute of Industrial Engineers offers several scholarships and grants for industrial engineering students. The $700 A.O. Putnam Memorial Scholarship is available to an undergraduate industrial engineering student in the United States, Mexico or Canada. The $600 C.B. Gambrell Undergraduate Scholarship is given to a freshman industrial engineering major who is a U.S. citizen. The John S.W. Fargher Scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $2,000 to an industrial engineering student who has a grade point average of at least 3.0 and is a student member of the IIE.

    Association for Iron and Steel Technology Foundation

    • The Association for Iron and Steel Technology Foundation makes a variety of scholarships available to industrial engineering students. The $3,000 Ronald E. Lincoln Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a full-time U.S. undergraduate. The $2,000 Benjamin F. Fairless Scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student with an interest in metallurgy. The $3,000 Henry DeWitt Smith Graduate Scholarship is given to a full-time graduate student in the United States or Canada. The annual application deadline for AIST Foundation scholarships is March 4.

    Society of Women Engineers

    • The Society of Women Engineers administers a number of scholarships for female students who are pursuing a degree in industrial engineering. The $4,500 Ford Motor Co. Scholarship is given to a freshman industrial engineering major. The $2,500 Siemens Corp. Scholarship goes to a freshman industrial engineering student who is both a U.S. citizen and a member of the SWE. The Northrop Grumman Foundation Scholarship, for $5,000, is given to an undergraduate industrial engineering major who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.
