Scholarships for Women Engineers

In 2001, the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that about 1 out of 10 engineers was a woman, and that about 11 percent of engineers in the current workforce were women. In an effort to close the gender gap and encourage more women to pursue careers in the exciting and demanding profession of engineering, many women engineer scholarships have been made available from several different organizations.
  1. The Society of Women Engineers Scholarships

    • The Society of Women Engineers offers scholarships to women who wish to pursue careers in engineering and computer science. Applicants must be women enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited baccalaureate or graduate engineering program, full-time students, and permanent U.S. citizens. Applicants are also required to submit two letters of recommendation and a financial aid contact from the college they will be attending. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $10,000.
