Scholarships for Engineering in India

Studying abroad is common for free-spirited and adventurous students. Studying abroad can also mean a need for financial aid. Those students focusing on degrees in engineering can apply to various engineering scholarships and grants in India, including those who may be handicapped or disabled.
  1. NTPC Scholarship for Disabled or Handicapped Engineering Students

    • The NTPC offers 35 handicapped or disabled students the opportunity to get a scholarship, if their primary study is engineering. To be eligible, students must present a handicap, such as visual, hearing or orthopaedic. Students must have a focused field of study, including electrical, instrumental, mechanical, eletronics / telecommunication or computer science engineering. Applicants must have completed their first year of study and be registered for their second. To apply, students must submit their application, which can be found on the NTPC website, along with other proper documentation.     The Paul Foundation Scholarships

    • This particular scholarship is offered to students in any subject, including engineering. Students are chosen for their outstanding results and expertise within a given field, including graduate and post graduate students. Students should attend Indian universities when applying. The scholarships will be awarded for academic results and research leading up to a degree. Not only do students get the scholarships, but it is expected that they contribute in a positive manner to building a knowledgeable society. Applicants should be younger than 30 and have a first class degree at a top university in India. Although the scholarship will only be granted once, it may cover up to two years of academic, living and travel expenses. To apply, students are asked to contact the Paul Foundation directly.

    The Young Engineering Fellowship Programme

    • The Young Engineering Fellowship Programme, also known as YEFP, is designed to enhance interest and awareness in academic research through a summer project, which is completed a the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore. To be eligible, students must be in their third year of study toward some type of engineering degree. To apply, students must submit an original study certificate from the head of the institution where the student is currently studying. Furthermore, students must also provide their grades and exam results, certificates, papers, design contests and projects. Lastly, students must write two pages on a project their intend to research with the scholarly financial aid. For more information, students are asked to contact the YEFP directly.
