The Maryland Higher Education Commission sponsors the State Nursing Scholarship program for both undergraduate and graduate nursing students. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year Maryland nursing program and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The scholarship program provides assistance in the amount of $3,000 per year and is renewable for a maximum of $19,000. In exchange for the award, recipients must agree to one year of service in an approved Maryland healthcare institution for each year the scholarship was received.

The Southern Maryland Hospital Center Nurse Scholarship Program is open to Maryland students who are enrolled in an accredited nursing degree program at the associate's or bachelor's degree levels. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and commit to one year of service with Southern Maryland Hospital Center for each semester aid is received. Associate's degree students may receive up to $5,000 per semester and bachelor's degree students may receive up to $10,000 per semester. Awards are renewable for a maximum of two semesters.

The Charles County Commissioner Office offers nursing scholarships to residents of Charles County who are enrolled in an accredited Maryland nursing degree program. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000 and priority is given to those students who have previously received the award. Applicants who are not prior recipients are selected based on financial need and academic merit. Recipients must agree to a two-year period of service in an approved Charles County healthcare facility after graduation.

Keswick Multicare sponsors two scholarship programs for graduating high school seniors who are interested in pursuing an associate's degree in nursing at an accredited Maryland school. The Henry Baker Registered Nursing Scholarship provides full tuition and fees for students who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, leadership skills and a determination to succeed. The Keswick Geriatric Nursing Assistant Scholarship provides a $500 award to selected students who are seeking licensure as a geriatric nursing assistant.

The American Legion Auxiliary Department of Maryland offers the Past Presidents Parley Scholarship to female descendants of former servicewomen and men who plan to enroll in a Maryland nursing program. Applicants must be direct descendants or stepchildren. The program awards one scholarship of $2,000 annually to a selected student who demonstrates academic achievement, financial need and a commitment to the nursing profession.
