The American Cancer Society provides scholarship funds to registered nurses pursuing a master of science degree in nursing through its Graduate Scholarships in Cancer Nursing Practice. Scholarships may be awarded for periods of one or two years and provide annual stipends of $10,000.
Applicants must be a citizen, national or permanent resident of the United States and must be pursuing an MSN with a concentration in cancer nursing. Grant applications are available annually from Aug. 1 to Feb. 1.

Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing provides $1,000 scholarships to RN-to-MSN students every other year through the Patricia Smith Christensen Scholarship. Applicants must be a practicing RN pursuing a graduate degree in nursing with a concentration in pediatric or maternal-child nursing. Preference is given to MSN students who are Canadian and who are members of Sigma Theta Tau International. The biannual deadline falls on April 1 of odd-numbered years.

The Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses provides money each year to students enrolled in an RN-to-MSN program through its Career Mobility Scholarship Program. This program awards scholarships of $1,000 to RN-to-MSN students who are concentrating in surgical nursing. Applicants must be a practicing nurse and must have been a member of AMSN for at least one year prior to applying for the scholarship. Scholarships applications are considered each year from Jan. 15 to May 15.
