The Aetna/NCEMNA (National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations) Scholars Program is open to ethnic minority students working toward bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing who are interested in pursuing research careers in the field, with a focus on eliminating minority health disparities. An applicant must be a member of any of the five NCEMNA member associations: Asian American/Pacific Islander Nurses Association, Philippine Nurses Association of America, National Alaska Native American Indian Nurses Association, National Association of Hispanic Nurses and National Black Nurses Association. For the Asian scholarship program, the scholarship recipients and the deadline for submissions are determined by each of the two sponsoring associations: the Asian American/Pacific Islander Nurses Association and the Philippine Nurses Association of America.

The Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Asian Nursing Scholarship Award Program provides one high school senior accepted into the Jefferson College of Health Professions Nursing program a scholarship to support her four years of study of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. This scholarship is available to a female member of the Asian community in Philadelphia. Applicants must be female students of Asian descent and fluency in an Asian language is preferred. Eligible individuals must complete the Asian Nursing Scholarship application form and provide two letters of recommendation, official high school transcripts, SAT scores and a 250-word essay expressing interest in nursing and a commitment to provide service in the Asian community of Philadelphia as a professional nurse. If English is not the student's native language, passing the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test is also required.

The Asian Pacific Fund manages a number of scholarships programs through contributions from individual donors who have desired to fulfill personal charitable goals. One of the scholarships managed by the Asian Pacific Fund is the Rachelle Cagampan Nursing Scholarship. It provides five Asian college juniors or seniors attending a four-year institution with a nursing degree with $5,000 each for their undergraduate study. Students may renew the scholarship during their junior year for another year. This need-based and merit-based scholarship is an educational opportunity for students dedicated to pursuing a degree and career in nursing and health care with a minimum grade-point average of 3.0. Applicants must also be able to establish Bay Area residency in San Francisco.
