The Army offers two-, three- and four-year ROTC nursing scholarships (as part of its regular ROTC scholarships) to all qualified students. These scholarships pay full tuition, offer room and board in lieu of tuition, and provide cadets with a living allowance that increases as their academic standing progresses. Army ROTC Nursing Cadets also have the opportunity to participate in the paid, three-week Nurse Summer Training Program (NSTP) at Army hospitals in the United States and Germany
The Navy offers two- and four-year ROTC Nursing scholarships, as part of its regular ROTC scholarships, to eligible students. These scholarships provide full tuition, all college fees, stipend for textbooks, uniforms, and a subsistence allowance for each academic month. Additionally, in line with NROTC curriculum, the student is provided the opportunity to go on three "summer cruises" (summer after every academic year) to learn more about the different branches of and occupations within the naval community.
The Air Force offers the Type 1 ROTC scholarship for nursing candidates. As of May 2010, this scholarship pays full tuition, almost all educational and college fees, and up to $900 per year for texts to all qualified candidates. Interested candidates will be college students and recipients will be sophomore or junior nursing majors at a National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited university. According to the Air Force, this ROTC scholarship is a noncompetitive program -- qualified candidates are awarded the scholarship without the need to interview with the scholarship selection board.
