Canadian Essay Scholarships

There are a variety of scholarships available in Canada that require applicants to write an essay in order to determine their academic level. Some of these scholarships are field of study specific which are offered to students pursuing studies in areas such as medicine, English and women studies. Other scholarships are open to all students.

    • The TitlePLUS Essay Contest is a scholarship offered by TitlePLUS, title insurance company, to students pursuing studies in law on a part-time or full-time basis at any school in Canada. It is worth $3,000 CAD ($2,832 USD) and is awarded to one individual a year.

    English 111 Essay Award

    • The English 111 Essay Award is a scholarship offered to students pursuing English Language and Literature programs full time or part time at Grant MacEwan University. The scholarship is valued at $300 CAD ($283 USD) and is awarded by the university to one student a year.

    Women's Caucus Essay Award

    • The Women's Caucus Essay Award is offered to full- or part-time students pursuing women's studies at The University of Western Ontario. The scholarship is worth $200 CAD or ($189 USD) and is awarded by the university to two individuals every year.

    Anthem Essay Contest

    • The Anthem Essay Contest scholarship is offered to full- or part-time students pursuing any field of study at any university in Canada or the United States. It is worth $2,000 CAD ($1,888 USD) and is provided by Ayn Rand Institute Canada. It is awarded to 236 students a year.

    Alberta Pork Essay Award

    • The Alberta Pork Essay Award is offered to full-time students pursuing culinary arts or chef training at NAIT. The scholarship is worth $250 CAD ($236 USD) and is awarded by the institution to one individual a year.
