Learning in the Arts for Children and Youth is a grants program sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. The NEA is committed to education and seeks to inspire young writers through celebration of culture and social behaviors developed from experiences in arts education that include creative writing. The study of art is encouraged from within the "social context from which they come" to help students develop an appreciation for writing as an art form. Public schools, private schools, or charter schools may apply. Activities can take place in the school day, after school or in the summer.
