    • The University of British Columbia offers a two-year Bachelor of Fine Arts studio creative writing program for the last two years of an undergraduate's study at the school. If you want, you can also double the major up with another field of study and get a joint degree. Undergraduate students can choose from a variety of workshop topics including poetry, fiction, writing for children, creative non-fiction, stage play, translation, radio, screen writing, song lyric and libretto. If you are applying, send in a cover letter with writing samples from two genres. The Masters of Fine Arts degree has a two-year studio program that requires resident study working as an apprentice under faculty. There is also distance education available with the Masters of Fine Arts Optional Residency program. Other concentrations for the Masters of Fine Arts include Screenwriting and and Stage Playwriting.

    • Concordia University has undergraduate programs for creative writing that it has offered for over 25 years. The undergraduate major in Creative Writing consists of 42 credits in creative writing and a total of 90 credits required for a Bachelor of Arts degree. The minor in Creative Writing requires 30 credits consisting of courses in writing and literature. If you are applying for the undergraduate major or minor, you must supply the school with 15 pages of your best writing for an evaluation.

    • The University of New Brunswick offers a Fine Arts minor in Creative Writing with your Bachelor of Arts in English. It provides you with studio classes, extracurricular activities and academic courses to enrich your experience. Graduates with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Fine Arts Minor in Creative Writing have the opportunity to pursue careers that include being an editor, journalist, proofreader, writer, scriptwriter, novelist, poet and more.
