The school also offers the alternative initial certification program.     • Trinity University's five-year program in early childhood education prepares students for Texas state certification. At the end of the first four years, students receive a bachelor of arts degree in humanities. During the fifth year of the program, which includes one summer session and two regular semesters of coursework, students fulfill requirements for the master of arts degree in teaching.
