Grants for Technical Schools

Technical schools are an important asset to their community and are eligible for many grants. With the rapid advance of technology and the appearance of new, high-growth industries, technical schools are in the forefront of training the workforce of the future.
  1. Perkins Technical School Grants

    • Perkins grants are to fully develop career skills of high school and technical school students. Types of projects funded under this grant include integrating core academic subject subjects into technical education programs, expanding technology for technical education and providing professional development to faculty.

    Special Populations

    • Special technical education grants are for eligible Native Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. These grants fund a variety of programs designed to increase delivery of technical educations services to these groups.

    Demonstration Grant

    • The Tech-Prep Demonstration program provides funds to consortia made up of a school providing vocational education at the high school level, a technical school providing education on the post secondary level, and a business partner. Tech-Prep vocational-technical education programs offer two years of high school education preceding graduation and at least two years of post secondary education leading to a vocational certificate or associate degree in a high-skill, high-wage industry.
