The Student Tennessee Education Association (STEA) is awarded several annual scholarships through the Don Sahli--Kathy Woodall Scholarship Fund. Specific STEA scholarships are $1,000 to the association president plus one $1,000 and two $500 scholarships to members. In addition, one $1,000 scholarship is granted to a high school senior who is a son or daughter of a Tennessee Education Association (TEA) member.
In addition to monies granted through the STEA, the Don Sahli--Kathy Woodall Scholarship Fund grants one $1,000 scholarship each year to a Tennessee high school senior who is planning on an education major and is a member of Future Teachers of America. A second $1,000 grant is awarded to a high school minority student with plans for an education major and another $1,000 grant for an education graduate student. All of these scholarships are based on economic need, academics, leadership and career plans.
The Tennessee Math Teachers Association offers a scholarship to a future math teacher, with the requirement that the student's major be Math Education, Math, or Elementary Education. The recipient must agree to teach math in Tennessee upon graduation.
