The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation provides scholarship money to Tennessee college students through the Tennessee Hope Scholarship. The Tennessee Hope Scholarship offers $4,000 to a student attending a four-year institution or a two-year institution that has on-campus housing or $2,000 to a student attending a two-year institution. To be eligible, a student must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 and must have received a composite ACT score of at least 21 or a combined SAT score of at least 980. Students with an ACT score of 29 or more, a combined SAT of at least 1280 and a grade point average of 3.75 or more are also eligible for the General Assembly Merit Scholarship, which adds an additional $1,000 to the Tennessee Hope Scholarship.

The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation provides scholarship money to former veterans returning to school through the Helping Heroes Grant. This scholarship comes in the amount of $1,000 per semester for full-time students and $500 per semester to part-time students. To be eligible, a student must be a former veteran who has received the Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal or the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Applicants must be a resident of Tennessee for a minimum of one year and take at least six credit hours per semester. A student must be an undergraduate to be eligible and must be pursuing his first bachelor's degree.

The Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation also administers the Christa McAuliffe Scholarship Program, which provides scholarship assistance to Tennessee students pursuing a career as a teacher. This nonrenewable scholarship comes in the amount of $500. To be eligible, a student must be in the second semester of their junior undergraduate year, must be pursuing an education degree at an accredited Tennessee institution of higher learning and must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. The annual deadline for application is April 1.
