List of Colorado Scholarships

Colorado is a rough-hewn place of imposing mountain peaks, expansive canyons and beautiful plains, making it one of the America's most scenic and beautiful states. The state also rewards one of its most valuable natural resources--its students. Many organizations within Colorado offer a variety of scholarships for varying courses of study at state schools, helping support the educational goals of Coloradans from all walks of life.
  1. Denver Scholarship Foundation

    • Students who attend and graduate from a public high school in the state capital may apply for an award from the Denver Scholarship Foundation. The scholarships are worth up to $6,000 and can be renewed for five years of study as long as the recipient meets certain requirements, which vary from college to college. Applicants for the awards must have financial need and may attend school half or full time.

    Colorado Masons' Benevolent Fund Scholarship

    • The Colorado Grand Lodge of the Masons awards scholarships worth up to $7,000 to students living in the Rocky Mountain state. The scholarships can be renewed annually and are awarded "for leadership, maturity, need and scholastic ability without reference to race, creed, color, sex or Masonic relationship," according to the organization. Applicants must be seniors graduating from a Colorado high school and attending school in the state to be eligible.

    LEAD Foundation Scholarship

    • Students with AD/HD or learning disabilities can apply for the Learning and Educating About Disabilities Foundation Scholarship, which seeks to recognize the hard work and dedication required by those balancing academics and disabilities. LEAD offers one $1,000 scholarship a year and seeks applicants who have "faced the challenges of having a learning disability and understands the importance of self-advocacy and self-knowledge in overcoming its challenges," according to the organization.

    Winifred R. Reynolds Educational Scholarship

    • Through a partnership with the Denver Foundation, Colorado students may apply for the Winifred R. Reynolds Educational Scholarship, which helps cover the expense of graduate studies in child development, early childhood education or an equivalent course of studies. Scholarship applicants must have a minimum 3.5 GPA on all complete graduate coursework, demonstrate financial need and be attending the University of Denver, the University of Northern Colorado, University of Colorado at Denver or Colorado State University.
