To help "ensure a future of quality broadcasting in Alabama." the Alabama Broadcasters Association administers a scholarship program to aid state residents studying broadcasting communications and broadcast sales. They present 10 scholarships each year, valued at $2,500 each, at the ABA's Annual Convention. Qualified applicants must be attending a two- or four-year school in Alabama, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and according to the foundation, "must demonstrate the intention of entering broadcast communication as his/her life's work."

To ensure an educated and skilled generation of funeral directors and morticians, the Alabama Funeral Directors and Morticians Association offers an annual scholarship. Applicants for the award must have at least a 2.0 GPA and be willing to state their reasons for entering funeral service in an essay question. The scholarship committee takes into consideration extracurricular activities and work experience. One of the three letters of recommendation to be included with the application must come from a funeral home manager or owner.

The Central Alabama Community Foundation is dedicated to helping Alabama residents become teachers. The Jay Murphy scholarship award seeks unique and non-traditional recipients: high school students, people with some college credit, working adults wishing to return to college in order to become teachers, and education professionals who wish to improve their qualifications and skills.

Alabama residents who live in Pike County and have excellent grades can apply for the Dr. James H. French Memorial Scholarship. The award seeks to help students who have earned high marks in accelerated science and math courses. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have scored a minimum of 23 on the ACT. Community and school involvement and financial need are taken into consideration, along with academic accomplishments. The scholarship application requires two letters of recommendation.

The University of Alabama rewards hard-working students with the Collegiate Scholar award. The award is worth $3,500 a year for a total of $14,000 over the course of four years of undergraduate studies. Applicants for the prestigious scholarship must have at least a 3.5 GPA and have scored 1250 to 1320 on the SAT. The award is available only to Alabama residents who will be first-time freshman at a university.
