The Siemens Foundation runs its annual Siemens Competition, awarding individual students or those part of a team competing in math, technology or science. There are several regional competitions in November, and the finalists compete at the national level in December in Washington D.C. Students can be in high school, foreign school as an exchange student, Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) school or home-schooled.
Students competing individually must be in their final year of school and be in good academic standing. Students competing as a team also must be in good academic standing but can be at any grade level. Competitors receive medals and scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 at the regional level and from $10,000 to $100,000 at the national level depending on their final standings.
